Maplewood Nature Center
2659 East Seventh Street,
Maplewood, MN 55119
Close to St, Paul but wild in nature!
Wooded land alongside sheltered, water deep within the metro area, is prized by migrants and urban residents, both human and avian.
This is an opportunity to walk the trails, see the sights, and hear the sounds of MNC. Normally warblers are still migrating north, and they seek wooded shoreline rest stops such as MNC provides. Over the years, in mid-May at least 22 different warblers have been recorded.
Directions: Maplewood Nature Center is west off Century Avenue aka MN Hwy 120 which is the boundary between Ramsey and Washington Counties. Observe that street numbering is different in the two counties. Look for the Nature Center sign to turn west onto East 7th Street.
Reservations: No reservations required.
Instructions: Meet in the parking lot at Maplewood Nature Center.
Difficulty: Easy – some trails are mulched and some are natural earth.
