Wednesday, May 29, 10AM, we are offering a training session at Olmsted County’s Chester Woods Park for people in SE Minnesota (or beyond) who have seen RHWOs in their area and have expressed interest in trying to locate and monitor active nests this summer. We will be indoors for an hour to 90 minutes to introduce them to a protocol developed from our citizen science at Cedar Creek and to a revised report form that can be used to submit their observations to our researchers.
Free, but limited capacity. Weather permitting, attending folks who can stay longer will go afield in search of birds and nest cavities. We are advertising mostly through Zumbro Valley, Winona, and Coulee Region Audubon groups, but if you know individuals who’d be interested, or would like to let your members know, we’d appreciate it.
