Bunker Hills holds many of the great Anoka Sand Plain birds… Lark Sparrows, Towhees, Thrashers, even the occasional Sandhill Crane.

This is a new trip for St. Paul Audubon, to an under-birded park with great birds. We’ll start early and hope to find Eastern Towhees, Lark Sparrows, Brown Thrashers, grassland sparrows, kestrels, orioles, bluebirds, maybe a family of Sandhill Cranes.

Bring binos, sunscreen, water and a snack for a full morning of walking, mostly on paved trails.

Yes, it is Memorial Day weekend, but this huge park can accommodate a big crowd.
