Springbrook Birding Base:


Saturday, June 16th

7 a.m. Early Bird Hike

1 – 4 p.m. Avian Games and Crafts for Families.

Sunday, June 17th

6:30 a.m. – Noon Bird Banding – assist in capture, and release of songbirds
10 a.m. – Noon Photography opportunities of birds being released
10 a.m. – Noon Bird Photography with Siah St. Clair, Springbrook Director

7 a.m. Bird and Bike: Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary Parking Lot

Saturday, June 16th and Sunday, June 17th

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Como Park Zoo and Conservatory – Learn about birds, bird crafts and meet birds in person.

Bird Releases
Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota rehabilitated bird release. Please check back for more details.

10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Bike with a Ranger (with a birding theme) – Matthews Park in South Minneapolis. Ride is free (we do require pre-registration 651-293-0200)
8 a.m. – Noon Bird Banding at Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary – St. Paul

North Mississippi Birding Base:


Saturday, June 16th

Noon – 4 p.m. Three Rivers and Minneapolis naturalists will lead bird activities at the Juneteenth celebration: Meet a live Great Horned Owl at North Mississippi Regional Park
Try out the Binocular Challenge Course, visit with naturalists, and explore the world of birds at exploration stations. Make a free bird feeder to take home. One feeder per family to the first 100 families Sunday-June 17th
1 – 3 p.m. Free Family Funday program at the Kroening Interpretive Center
Learn the secrets of the summer bird species that are seen in the park. Hands on interactive activities.

AHATS Birding Base:

Saturday, June 16th

7:30 – 10:00 a.m. Intermediate to a advanced birding
9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Bird photography hike
Noon – 1:30 p.m. Basic bird hike

Sunday, June 17th

1:00 – 3:30 p.m. Bird hike to Kame ( 3.5 miles)
2:30 – 4:00 p.m. Intro bird walk (1.5 Miles)

All Participants must be 18 or older.

We’ll meet in the parking lot of the National Guard’s new Readiness Center. It’s on Hamline Avenue and Ben Franklin Street in Arden Hills, a couple blocks north of Ramsey County Road 96. Take 35W North to the Ramsey Co. Rd. 96 exit (the next exit north of 694). Go east on Co Rd 96 a couple miles. Take a left (North) at the stoplight at Hamline Avenue and stay on Hamline until you can’t go any further (a gate will stop you so you can’t go too far). Park in the MN National Guard Readiness Center lot. There will probably be signs.
