The MN Breeding Bird Atlas. Biggest Bird Survey in Minnesota History!

by Bonnie Sample, Coordinator for the MN Breeding Bird Atlas

Minnesota is conducting its first Breeding Bird Atlas, the most comprehensive, science-based bird survey in our history.

This is the final year of a 5-year, citizen-science project that will document Minnesota’s breeding species and their breeding distribution. It is very likely that members of the Saint Paul Audubon Society have contributed to this survey!

In addition to a brief orientation to Breeding Bird Atlases and Minnesota’s Atlas specifically, you will learn why Atlases are important, how they work, and the progress made to date in Minnesota – with a few interesting stories along the way! Ms. Sample will finish with a look into the future.
