Hawks in the Galapagos
The Raptor Center invites Auduboners to a free presentation on Galapagos hawks on Friday, October 21 at 4 p.m. Dr. Julia Ponder, Raptor Center executive director, and Lori Arent, clinic manager, will share stories and photos from their work earlier this year with the island raptor population.
A number of partner organizations collaborated on a project to eradicate nonnative, invasive rats on three islands in the Galapagos chain, and Raptor Center staff helped keep the captive hawks healthy.
Since space is limited for this event in the center’s annual Duke Lecture Series, please reserve a spot at www.TheRaptorCenter.org.
The presentation is scheduled for the Ben Pomeroy Alumni Center on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. Refreshments and a chance to meet some of the center’s education birds follow the lecture.
