2011 Trek & Tally: Saturday June 4th

Join Saint Paul Audubon for the 2nd annual Trek and Tally event for 4th through 6th graders.

2010 Trek & Tally

Teams of 4 will be joined by a Saint Paul Audubon birder for a birding trek through Keller Regional Park to see how many birds your group can spot. Teams will gather for a tally of birds their team spotted.

When: Saturday, June 4th, 2011
Time: 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
Registration deadline: due May 14
Cost: $5 per participant ($15 for a team of 3)

How to Register: Complete registration form, mail fee and form to address on form

Schedule of Events:
8:00-8:30 Check-in
8:30-10:00 Trek (Birding)
10:00 -10:30 Tally
10:30-10:45 Awards
11:45 Pick up

WHERE: Ramsey County Keller Regional Park’s Round Lake Picnic Area (No of Phalen Lake)
DIRECTIONS: Off Frost Ave. 1/10 mile east of Arcade/Highway 61 in Maplewood
PRIZES: For the top 5 teams that spot the most BIRD species in 1 ½ hrs. of birding

Please note:

  1. An adult adviser (Audubon volunteer) will be provided for each birding team.
  2. Parents/guardians are responsible for transportation.
  3. Binoculars will be available for those who need them.
  4. Prepare participants for any weather including rain. (Canceled in case of lightning)
  5. Water will be available.

Mail Permission/s with Team Registration Form and money to Steve Johnson, 205 Kenwood Dr. West, Maplewood, MN 55117 or return to school with participant.
Make checks payable to Saint Paul Audubon Society.
